Nonprofit Summer CONTEST: #DonorLove

NPS-10

Show me your Donor Love!

I am incredibly excited about the #DonorLove Rendezvous this coming May in Toronto. As I posted earlier this month, the event is going to be like nothing else you’ve ever experienced for Professional Development (something you know that I am very emphatic about as well!)

The #DonorLove Rendezvous brings together two of my core beliefs around the social sector – first, that we need to do more to connect people to causes (and one of the best ways fundraisers can do this is by showing their donors some love); second, that everyone has something incredibly valuable to contribute to the conversation.

Not only do I believe in this event, but I believe that you really need to be there. So I’m giving you the chance to join me.

The prize

Colludo has given away a lot of swag over the last couple years, but nothing quite this awesome!

– Free #DonorLove Rendezvous Conference registration

– $100 Canadian travel voucher to put towards your travel costs

– Dinner with me (my treat!) the night before the conference in Toronto

– A free 90 minute consultation

– 20 thank you cards for you to use to show your donors love

– Be featured in an upcoming Jam Sammich on my website

– All the high fives your arms can handle before you sprain something (we wouldn’t want that!)

Your mission if you choose to accept it…

Between now and August 30, I want you to think about how you can work more donor love into your daily routine. Maybe you’re already kicking ass, or maybe you haven’t even started. All is well. Now is the time!

If you’re just starting, start simply – start by sending some handwritten thank you cards to a handful of donors. Do your research and discover some unique ways that you can work donor love into your regular workplace routines.

If you’re already a donor love wiz, show me how you can take it to the next level!

Whatever you plan, make sure you write it down (if you have a plan but it’s not written down you don’t actually have a plan.)

And when you start the loving, show me the proof! Take a photo of yourself executing your donor love activities. It could be a photo of a stack of mail you’re going to send (you’ll want to blur your sending address, though!) Or maybe a snapshot of you on the telephone making some calls to donors. Whatever is in your plan, find a way to photograph it.

Then, tweet your photo to me – I’m @colludos if you didn’t know – let me know what donor love goodness you’re up to, and be sure to include the hashtag #DonorLove! The more donor love activities you share with me, the more times your name gets added to the draw.

The contest will run August 1 – 30, with a winner being drawn on Monday, August 31st and announced on Friday, September 4th.

**Winner will need to confirm that they are committed to attending the #DonorLove Rendezvous before prizes are released (ie, I won’t give you a travel voucher unless you’re going to Toronto for May 11, 2016!)

That’s it! Easy peasy, and a great excuse to be thinking about how you will start loving on your donors!
